Flear Privacy Policy
Last updated September 16, 2026
Your schedule can be shared only with friends you accept. Your pay and income information is never shared with friends.
Information we process
Flear processes your name, email address and account identifier when you sign in with Apple on iOS or Google on Android. The app stores roster entries you enter or import, including dates, duty types, flight numbers, routes, report times and off-duty times. Pay rates, salary, allowances, calculated income and currency remain in local app storage and are not uploaded to the Flear friends service.
Crew portal credentials are entered directly into the airline website displayed inside Flear. Flear does not store or upload usernames, passwords or one-time codes; browser cookies and form data are cleared when the portal screen closes.
Friends and cloud services
When you use Friends, Flear stores your account profile, a one-way hash of your email for discovery, friend requests, and the schedule fields needed to display your roster to accepted friends. Android uses Google Firebase Authentication and Firestore. The current iOS version uses Apple authentication and CloudKit. Pay and income fields are not included in shared roster records.
Advertising and purchases
The free Android version uses Google AdMob and the User Messaging Platform. Depending on your consent and device settings, Google may process IP address (which can indicate approximate location), app interactions, diagnostics, and device or advertising identifiers for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Privacy choices are available in Flear Settings when required. Google Play processes subscriptions and purchase status. Flear does not sell personal information.
Storage and security
Android roster and pay data are stored locally using Room and are excluded from Android cloud backup. Data sent to Firebase, Google services, Apple services, airline portals and roster feed providers is encrypted in transit. Imported PDF/ICS data is processed for app functionality.
Your choices
- Remove friends to revoke future access to your shared schedule.
- Clear roster history from Settings.
- Change advertising privacy choices where available.
- Delete your Flear account in Settings → Account → Delete Account. This deletes the Firebase account, profile, email directory entry, friend requests, shared roster and local Flear data.
- If you no longer have the app, request deletion at Flear Account Deletion.
Retention and children
Account and shared schedule data is kept until you delete the account or request deletion. Local data remains until cleared, account deletion, or app removal. Flear is intended for adult airline crew and people coordinating schedules with them; it is not directed to children.
