Privacy Policy

Flear · Last updated August 23, 2026
Flear ("we," "our," or "the app") is a roster and income-tracking app built for airline pilots and cabin crew. This Privacy Policy explains what information Flear collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We designed Flear around a simple principle: your schedule can be shared with friends you choose; your pay and income information never can.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you sign in with Sign in with Apple, we receive a stable, anonymized identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address (or Apple's private relay email). We use this only to identify your account within Flear and to enable features like sharing your schedule with friends.

1.2 Roster and Schedule Data

Information you enter or import about your flights, duty days, standby days, training, and days off, including:

1.3 Pay and Income Information

Your base salary, per-sector rate, per-block-hour rate, per diem rate, and currency preference, entered by you in Settings. This information is stored only on your device and in your own private iCloud account. It is never transmitted to any other user of the app, never included in anything shared with friends, and never seen by us.

1.4 Crew Portal Login Credentials

If you use Flear's "Import from crew portal" feature, you enter your airline portal username, password, and one-time passcode (if applicable) directly into your airline's own login page inside the app. Flear does not store, log, or transmit these credentials anywhere. They exist only transiently in the app's memory for the duration of the login session and are cleared when the import screen is closed.

1.5 Data You Choose to Share with Friends

If you add another Flear user as a friend and both of you accept the connection, your schedule only (dates, duty status such as flights/standby/days off) becomes visible to that friend through Apple's CloudKit sharing. Your pay, income, salary, and currency information is never included in this shared data, at a structural level — the code path that builds shared records does not have access to your pay data at all.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

We do not use your information for advertising targeting, and we do not sell your information to anyone.

3. How Your Information Is Stored and Shared

4. Third-Party Services

Flear uses the following Apple services:

Flear does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs at this time. If this changes in a future version (for example, to support a free ad-supported tier), this Privacy Policy will be updated in advance and you will be notified via an in-app notice.

5. Your Choices and Rights

6. Children's Privacy

Flear is intended for airline crew members, who are adults. Flear is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Data Retention

Your roster and pay data remain stored on your device and in your iCloud account for as long as you use the app. If you delete the app, locally stored data is removed from that device; data that synced to your iCloud account is governed by your iCloud settings and Apple's retention practices.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app before the changes take effect.
